April Lockhart
April Lockhart, born in 1995 on the 4th of July, began taking lessons on piano and guitar at age seven. The passion for songwriting was awakened. When she was 12 years old, April wrote her first song Different. The singer spent much of her the time of 14 making songs and practicing the piano. After that, she started taking trips to write with her father, who lived in NY as well as LA. April began including other topics in Take My Hand for her friends who were dealing with disabilities, peer pressure or suicide. Lockhart works in partnerships at famous Clean Beauty brand Ilia and also is a lifestyle blogger who has a growing fan base. Her birth was without a left hand and that is part of her story, but it's hardly her whole story. Lockhart's profile on Instagram doesn't conceal her handicap, but it doesn't concentrate solely on her disability. It's a reminder. The message? We are all multifaceted, and that our physical and identity bodies aren't what appear. Lockhart tells Lockhart via video "I am not convinced that my physical appearance will define me. I don't intend to have an impact on disabilities because I've got many more things to contribute." The issue doesn't affect my everyday activities. I go about the same way as I always do and have developed my own ways to adapt. This is a major element of my life therefore it's important to discuss it. Lockhart has served as an excellent inspiration to her fellow women in the area of acceptance of oneself. Lockhart admits to having had periods where she felt insecure about dressing in certain styles that displayed her arms. She dresses according to her preferences and is proud to post pictures of herself wearing the clothes she wears on social media. What makes self-love so appealing to her is that it's not an end place to go. That's true of everyone regardless of how much they are afraid. I think it is important to be surrounded by people who can really know the person you are.
