The babies were asleep in their cribs as I was strapped with one of them on my back. Ha! The home was beginning to look good, but there were a few things to be done. To complete this task I had planned to spend a considerable amount of money and spend time searching for the perfect home. I could outgrow my space because I owned many more pieces than I could use. At home, I would host open houses in which more than 1000 guests could visit and buy any item they wanted from the first floor over the course of a weekend. That's how my company Growing Days was born. Growing Days was not only a thriving business but also my sweet family. It was essential to find the right balance for me. I wanted to be both a mom and a successful business owner. Growing Days fit perfectly. My sweet Nora was born in 2013, which was our 4th child. Though I was content about the direction my company was taking, I realized that I needed to take some time off. I took a break from creating vintage furniture and slowed down my pace in order to stay at home and raise the children. This was just what I was looking for. It wasn't until a couple of months when the phones began to ring. They wanted my help in interior decoration and home renovations. They had mainly visited my house at the open houses that were held for furniture. I began to take on clients at a time working at my own pace but it wasn't too time before I was running numerous accounts and had a complete home renovation business. Had you told me my business would be the basis for a DIY Network show, I likely would have laughed. Even now, when I reflect on the situation I am laughing.
